Netflix’s movie currently called “Pain Hustlers” is holding an open casting call in Georgia for paid movie extras.
The upcoming feature film begins filming in the Georgia area this summer and the movie needs to hire lots of people to work as paid background actors. Central Casting Georgia will be holding an open casting call for extras this month in Fairburn, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta. Atlanta and surrounding area locals, who have some time to work on set this summer and fall are welcome to come on down and meet with the extras casting directors. The movie is looking for background actors who are over the age of 18 of all types. Please note that the open call is only for paid extras, so no experience is required as these are small, non-speaking roles.
The upcoming Netflix film which will be starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans is a Netflix acquisition from the 2022 Cannes festival. The film is rumored to be along the veins of films such as “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Big Short” and American Hustle. The premise is that Blunt’s character, an ambitious businesswoman, takes her pharmaceutical company from small time to big time and eventually gets caught up in some criminality which threatens herself and her company.
The movie is said to be based, loosely, on an actual event that was written about in the New York times some years ago which was in fact called, The Pain Hustlers.
According to the NYT story:
“The New York Times Magazine, “The Pain Hustlers,” a feature about the Insys Therapeutics story, published in May 2018, before the case against the company’s top executives went to trial.”
Davis Yates is directing the project which has an estimated budget of 50 million. Yates is the movie director behind many of the Harry Potter movies and the script comes from Wells Tower.

The film centers on Liza Drake (Blunt), a high-school dropout dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, who lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical start-up in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Liza’s charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.
